25-year-old female constable Nisha Sharma, posted at Kotwali police station in Guna, committed suicide by hanging herself in her government quarter at Police Line around 2 PM on Tuesday. As soon as the news of the incident was received, Cantt police broke open the gate, brought the body down from the noose, and sent it to the district hospital for post-mortem. The reason why the female constable took this suicidal step has not yet been revealed. Police are investigating the matter. Woman constable found hanging in police quarters Nisha Sharma, a resident of Ashok Nagar district, was living in a government quarter in the Guna Police Line. She did not come out of her room since morning. The domestic worker who arrived in the morning knocked on the gate several times but got no response and returned. When the quarter remained closed till around noon, concerned neighbors informed the Cantt police station. Police reached the spot and, after receiving no response despite repeated calls, broke open the gate. Inside, Nisha was found hanging from a ceiling fan with a noose made from a bedsheet. Initial investigation revealed that the woman constable had gone to her home in Ashok Nagar on a two-day leave and had returned to Guna on Monday evening to resume duty. Police investigating the matter Police from Cantt Police Station have sent the body to the hospital for post-mortem. Police have not yet confirmed whether any suicide note was found at the incident site. The deceased’s family members have been informed. Only after they arrive in Guna and the post-mortem report is received will the real reasons for the suicide be known.
