‘father-beat-us-and-threw-us-out’:9-year-old-seeks-justice;-police-ignored-pleas-for-6-months,-sp-warns-ti-of-action

During the public hearing of Morena SP Dharamraj Meena on Tuesday, a case from Simrauda Ahir village in the Rampur police station area moved everyone present. A 9-year-old boy arrived holding his mother’s hand, seeking justice. After hearing the family’s ordeal and learning that they had been making rounds of the local police station for the past six months, the SP reprimanded the Rampur police station in charge. He warned that if action was not taken and justice was not delivered to the mother and son the same day, action would be taken against the TI. ‘Dad beats us every day, I miss my brother a lot’ To ascertain the truth of the complaint, SP Dharamraj Meena called the 9-year-old innocent Aditya to him. First, he made the frightened child sit near his chair and offered him water. Then, with affection, he asked him the whole story. What the innocent child revealed while crying was heartbreaking. The child said, Dad drinks alcohol and gambles. He is selling our land. When Mom tried to stop him, Dad beats us every day. He has thrown me and Mom out of the house, but has kept my 12-year-old elder brother (Pushpendra) with him. I miss my brother very much. If Dad sells the land, how will Mom raise us? Rampur police also don’t listen to us. Mother had been visiting police station for 6 months Victim woman Neeraj Jatav, narrating her ordeal, stated that her husband, Satyendra Jatav, is completely addicted to alcohol and gambling. He is selling the family’s agricultural land at throwaway prices. The woman alleges that when she protested, her husband beat her and rendered her homeless, along with her younger son, Aditya. The woman had been continuously visiting the Rampur police station for 6 months, but the local police remained inactive. SP gave instructions to TI on wireless After hearing the pain of innocent Aditya and his mother, SP Dharamraj Meena immediately summoned the Rampur Police Station in-charge on the wireless and instructed him. The SP said – The police team should immediately drop the victim woman and her younger son back to their home with full respect and security. Immediate strict punitive action should be taken against the accused husband, Satyendra Jatav, who assaulted due to gambling and alcohol, and threatened to sell land. If action is not taken in this matter by this evening, the Rampur Police Station in-charge should be ready for departmental action against himself. Following this strict stance by the SP, the victim mother and son now finally have hope for justice after a long wait of 6 months.
