The Gwalior Bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court has declared the election of Congress MLA Mukesh Malhotra from the Vijaypur Assembly seat void. The court delivered the verdict on a petition filed by BJP leader and former minister Ramniwas Rawat, who had contested the by-election from Vijaypur. In his petition, Rawat alleged that while filing his nomination during the bypoll, Malhotra did not disclose complete details of the criminal cases registered against him.
