Allegations of corruption have surfaced in a road constructed under the Prime Minister’s Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in Ichhawar, Sehore district. Villagers claim that instead of asphalt, the contractor is using “black oil” in the construction of the four-kilometre-long road. The road connects Kala Peepal Jagir to Lasudia Kangar. Villagers inspected the work on-site and raised serious concerns about the quality of construction materials. They alleged that the contractor is ignoring quality standards. Reports say that cracks have already started appearing in the newly built road. Villagers allege corruption and poor construction Villagers have collectively lodged a complaint on the Chief Minister’s Helpline (181) against the alleged irregularities. They further claimed that the contractor and officials are allegedly colluding to misappropriate public funds. Nepal Patel, a local resident, said, “There is no asphalt in the road at all; only black oil has been used. The road is coming apart in our hands. During the rains, it will completely collapse. Proper construction must be carried out; otherwise, we will launch a protest.” Post navigation Vehicles passing through incomplete tunnel of Indore-Ichhapur highway risking lives:Unpaved road and darkness prevails inside tunnel, water seeping from mountain 81-year-old Gwalior man troubled by illness slits his throat:Sons rush him to JA Hospital after house owner finds him injured, succumbs after 7 days
