An elderly man, suffering from a long-term respiratory illness, committed suicide by slitting his throat. The incident took place seven days ago in the Nadeepal Tal area of Thatipur. The matter came to light when the house owner visited the man and found him injured, immediately informing his sons. The sons rushed home and admitted their severely injured father to JA Hospital. The elderly man fought for life for seven days but passed away on Friday night. The police arrived at the hospital on receiving information, took the body under surveillance, sent it for post-mortem, and registered a case to begin investigation. Elderly man found injured at home The 81-year-old, Mulchand, son of Baldev Singh, a resident of Katyani Gali, Thatipur, across the river Tal, had been struggling with respiratory illness for a long time. On 31 January, his sons, Vinod and Prakash, had left for work when the house owner called Vinod in the evening, informing him that his father was lying injured on the floor with a wound on his throat. Vinod and Prakash returned home and took their father to JA Hospital for treatment, where doctors admitted him. Upon arriving, police questioned the family and learned that the elderly man had long been suffering from breathing difficulties and had used a knife to injure his throat. Pain became unbearable Investigations revealed that Mulchand had been in severe discomfort due to his respiratory illness and often complained about his pain to family members. Despite ongoing treatment, he found no relief, leading him to take this drastic step. Investigation underway Thatipur police station in-charge Vipendra Singh Chauhan stated that a senior citizen committed suicide. A case has been registered, and the investigation is ongoing. Further action will be taken based on the facts that emerge during the inquiry.
