Income Tax authorities from Punjab have been conducting raids at two offices of Dilip Buildcon in Bhopal since Monday. The team, which arrived from Amritsar, is currently examining documents at both locations as part of an ongoing investigation into potential tax evasion. Confidential documents seized The Income Tax team has seized a significant number of documents reportedly related to the manipulation of investment trusts and irregularities in share transactions. The investigation is being led by the Principal Director of Investigation, along with over two dozen officers conducting questioning and scrutiny on-site. According to Income Tax officials, the raids were triggered by links of Dilip Suryavanshi, owner of Dilip Buildcon, in a tax evasion case in Punjab. These connections prompted the Bhopal raids, during which a substantial volume of documents was confiscated. Offices and locations targeted The raids are being carried out at Dilip Suryavanshi’s Chunabhatti office and another Bhopal location. Batsla Jha, DG Investigation of the Chandigarh region of the Punjab Income Tax Department, confirmed the raids to Dainik Bhaskar, stating that the final report is still pending and the operation is expected to conclude by Tuesday evening. The team from Amritsar has received assistance from MP SAF, but local police or central security agencies were not involved. Notably, the departmental officers in Bhopal were not initially included in the Amritsar team’s inspection. Additional raid in Indore region The Income Tax team also raided Arnil Technocraft Private Limited, located in the Pithampur industrial area of Dhar district near Indore. The company is reportedly associated with the Dilip Buildcon Group and primarily manufactures road furniture. Company unaware of specific charges Dilip Buildcon stated that the Income Tax department has not yet informed the company of the reasons for the raids. The company is awaiting clarification regarding whether the operation is connected to its activities. Officials noted that several construction companies have recently faced Income Tax scrutiny, suggesting that the Bhopal action may be linked to broader investigations. However, no official statement has yet been issued by the Income Tax department regarding the current raids.
