A dispute over a food bill turned violent at a hotel in Gwalior’s Padav police station area late Sunday night, as customers and hotel staff allegedly exchanged punches and kicks inside the premises. The incident, which took place at a hotel in Station Bajaria around 2 a.m., created panic among other diners. A video of the brawl has since surfaced on social media and is being widely circulated. Argument over payment turns violent According to preliminary information, a group of customers had visited the hotel for dinner. After finishing their meal, an argument broke out with the hotel staff over the payment of the bill. The verbal altercation quickly escalated into pushing and shoving before turning into a physical fight, with both sides exchanging blows. Several people present at the hotel attempted to intervene, but the commotion continued for some time. Panic among other diners The fight triggered panic among families and other customers dining at the hotel. Fearing for their safety, several people left the premises. Some eyewitnesses recorded the entire incident on their mobile phones, and the footage later went viral on social media. Police begin investigation Police have collected information about the incident and launched an investigation. Officials are also examining the viral video to reconstruct the sequence of events. Authorities are trying to determine the exact cause of the dispute and identify which side initiated the violence. Questions raised over hotel’s late-night operations The incident has also raised questions about the hotel’s operations beyond permitted hours.
