A 14-year-old girl who had been missing for the past seven days from Maharajpura in Gwalior has been traced and recovered by the police from Bengaluru. The minor had also gone missing in April 2026 and was then found in Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh. Acting swiftly, the police examined CCTV footage, carried out route mapping, and tracked the girl’s movements before locating her. After being recovered, the minor refused to return home and has been placed at a One Stop Centre for counselling and care. Went missing from home on June 21 According to Maharajpura police, the Class IX student disappeared from her residence in Shatabdipuram on June 21. After failing to locate her on their own, her family approached the police. The girl is originally from Bhind district but had been staying in Maharajpura with her family for her education. Considering the sensitivity of the case, a search team was immediately formed under the guidance of CSP Maharajpura Nagendra Singh Sikarwar, led by Station House Officer Inspector Yashwant Goyal. CCTV footage and route mapping led to recovery The police scanned CCTV footage from Shatabdipuram and nearby areas, questioned several suspects, and activated their informer network. Using route mapping based on the available evidence, the team traced the girl’s location and recovered her on Sunday evening from Bengaluru. Although she was safely brought back, the minor refused to return to her family. As a result, she has been shifted to a One Stop Centre, where she will receive counselling and support. Second disappearance in three months During the investigation and counselling process, police discovered that this was not the first time the girl had left home. According to Maharajpura police records, she had also gone missing on April 1, 2026. After an extensive search, the police had traced her to Chitrakoot in Uttar Pradesh and reunited her with her parents. Police statement Maharajpura SHO Yashwant Goyal said the police treated the case as highly sensitive from the outset. “Our team first analysed CCTV footage and prepared a route map to determine the direction in which the minor had travelled. Based on that, we took prompt action and successfully recovered her. She has currently been placed at a One Stop Centre for proper counselling,” he said.
