Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav today reviewed the schemes of the Energy Department, Food and Civil Supplies Department, and AYUSH Department. During the review, he directed officials to speed up public welfare work and focus on increasing revenue. Focus on renewable energy expansion and loss reduction In the Energy Department review meeting, the Chief Minister said that the use of solar energy should be promoted at all levels. He noted that losses worth ₹2,500 crore in the energy sector have been reduced and directed that such efforts must continue. He also instructed that all works in hamlets and small settlements should be completed at the earliest. CM Yadav said that recovery of electricity bills and cash collection has improved and efforts should be made to sustain this progress. He further directed officials to move ahead with the process of a pilot project under the “One Nation, One Grid” initiative in Jabalpur. Share of renewable energy rises to 33% During the meeting, it was informed that the share of renewable energy in Madhya Pradesh’s total power capacity has increased from 25% in March 2024 to 33% in March 2026. Earlier, 5,690 MW of energy was being generated from renewable sources, which has now increased to 8,608 MW. Out of this, 5,376 MW comes from solar energy, while 3,232 MW is generated from wind and other renewable sources. AYUSH schemes and elderly care programs reviewed In the AYUSH Department review, the Chief Minister said that the “Vayomitra” programme for door-to-door healthcare for elderly citizens is highly useful. He also appreciated the “Karunya” initiative aimed at improving the quality of life of patients suffering from incurable diseases. Officials informed that under an MoU with the Tourism Department, 12 AYUSH Health and Wellness Centres are being established across the state, including locations such as Khajuraho (Chhatarpur), Omkareshwar (Khandwa), Chanderi (Ashoknagar), Chitrakoot (Satna), Pachmarhi (Narmadapuram), Orchha (Niwari), Ujjain, Datia, Mandsaur, Alirajpur, Singrauli, and Agar-Malwa. Panchakarma units and new AYUSH infrastructure planned It was also informed that Panchakarma units will be set up in every AYUSH wing. AYUSH wings are being established in allopathic hospitals across 22 districts. The government is also working on setting up five new Ayurvedic colleges and launching 50-bed AYUSH hospitals in 12 districts. A plan is underway to provide cashless AYUSH treatment to nearly 13 lakh employees and insured worker families registered under the Employees’ State Insurance scheme, in coordination with the Labour Department. Food and civil supplies reforms and MSME integration During the review of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, the Chief Minister took stock of wheat procurement and directed that a model should be developed where wheat processing, grading and related activities are supported through MSME collaboration. He also suggested that self-help groups can play an important role in this system. The Chief Minister appreciated efforts by the Warehousing and Logistics Corporation to reduce storage losses and its initiative to provide training to staff at the Indian Institute of Management, Mumbai.
