In Bhind city, a case of misbehaviour and threats by a fruit trader with a Food Safety Officer has come to light during a checking drive in the fruit market on Friday evening. The complaint has been lodged at the Kotwali police station. According to information, Food Safety Officer Reena Bansal had gone to inspect warehouses of mango, banana, and grape traders in the fruit market area. During the inspection, the team checked business documents and food licence records. Trader found operating without licence, claims crores in turnover During the inspection, the team reached the warehouse of Siddha Baba Fruit Supplier, run by Arvind Ratnakar. When the officer asked for licence and related documents, the trader allegedly got angry. It is alleged that the trader told the officer that he had been running a business worth crores without any licence for years and that no officer had ever dared to come there before. Threats of transfer and abuse alleged According to the Food Safety Officer, despite attempts to calm the situation, the trader continued to use abusive language. He also allegedly claimed that he had strong political connections and could get officials transferred within a minute. Reena Bansal said the trader kept hurling abuses and resisted action when sealing of the warehouse was discussed due to lack of licence. She further stated that the trader described himself as a big businessman with an annual turnover of over ₹7 crore. As the situation escalated, the officer left the spot and later submitted a written complaint at the Kotwali police station. Complaint to collector and action demand Food Safety Officer Reena Bansal said that a complaint will also be submitted to the district collector. She added that action will be taken against the trader for obstructing government work, misbehaviour, and running a business without a valid licence.
