Ujjain police have arrested absconding criminal Ronak Gurjar in a widely reported fake firing case. The accused was arrested from the MR-5 Road area. Police said more than 50 criminal cases are already registered against him. An illegal country-made pistol and live cartridges were also recovered from his possession. Planned conspiracy behind fake firing incident Investigation has revealed that the entire firing incident was allegedly staged as part of a conspiracy. Chimanganj Mandi police arrested Ronak Gurjar on Friday evening from the MR-5 Road area. According to police, he is involved in over 50 criminal cases across different districts, including cases related to extortion, assault, and illegal arms possession. A reward of ₹10,000 had also been announced for his arrest. After his arrest, police also took him to the crime scene for inspection and conducted a public parade. Case began with claim of shooting incident The case dates back to April 12, when a minor boy was admitted to hospital claiming he had been shot at in the Dhanchha Bal Bhawan area. A complaint was also registered at the police station, and the matter was initially treated as serious. Forensic report exposed the truth However, forensic investigation by the State Crime Branch revealed major inconsistencies. No bullet shells were found at the spot, and no signs of gunshot injury were detected. The medical report also confirmed that the injuries were not caused by bullets but appeared to be self-inflicted.
