bomb-threat-in-indore-causes-panic:divisional-commissioner’s-office-evacuated-and-searched-for-1-hour;-explosive-warning-creates-fear

Chaos erupted in the city on Wednesday afternoon when an e-mail threatening to bomb the Divisional Commissioner’s office and the Labour Commissioner’s office, operating in the same building, was received. The mail claimed that bombs equipped with cyanide gas had been planted in the premises, which would explode in the afternoon. Upon receiving the warning, employees were immediately evacuated and the entire building was cleared. Upon receiving the information, the police, the bomb disposal squad, and the dog squad reached the spot. During an intensive search and investigation that lasted for about an hour, the entire premises were scoured, but no suspicious object or explosive was found anywhere. After the investigation, officials declared both offices completely safe, after which work resumed as normal. Mail Sent with a Political Angle
The threatening e-mail mentioned Tamil Nadu politics, targeting the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government and Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin. The mail used inflammatory language, making several accusations against the government. Addressed as ‘Pakistan’s Spies’
The email addressed the office staff as “Pakistan’s spies” and raised questions on everything from law and order in Tamil Nadu to media and political funding. Allegations of foreign funding through some trusts and its misuse were also made. Attempt to Intimidate with Threats
The message also stated that this threat is a sample of their power and warned of bigger attacks in the future. It also indicated that if the DMK returns to power in 2026, serious consequences would have to be faced. Search for Email Sender Continues
Currently, the police, with the help of the cyber cell, are trying to identify and trace the location of the email sender. In the initial investigation, it is being considered a conspiracy to spread rumors and create panic.
