President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday attended the ‘Spiritual Awakening for Empowerment of Tribal Society’ conference held at Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium in Betul. She formally inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp and later addressed the public gathering. After concluding her speech, the President departed under tight security for Omkareshwar in Khandwa district. Warm welcome at helipad, tree plantation marks arrival The President arrived at the Milannagar toll plaza helipad in the morning, where she was welcomed by the Governor, state ministers, and local dignitaries, including District In-charge Minister Narendra Shivaji Patel and senior administrative officials. From the helipad, her convoy proceeded to the stadium. On arrival, she planted a sapling and also visited exhibitions set up by various government departments. Event begins with National Anthem and lamp lighting ceremony The main programme began with the rendition of the National Song and National Anthem. President Murmu then formally inaugurated the conference by lighting the ceremonial lamp. She was also presented with a memento on stage as a mark of respect. Cultural performances were presented by artists, adding colour to the inauguration ceremony. Governor and dignitaries on stage The conference was chaired by Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel. The stage was also shared by Union Minister of State Durgadas Uike, State Minister Narendra Shivaji Patel, and Odisha coordinator of the organising institution Dr. Natmal. Other notable attendees included Leena Ben and Shailaja Ben from Mount Abu, along with several distinguished guests who attended the programme. Arrived in Indore Earlier, the President arrived in Indore on Thursday, marking the beginning of her five-day official visit to Madhya Pradesh. Governor Mangubhai Patel and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav received the President on her arrival at Indore Airport. The visit will run from June 18 to June 22 and includes a series of religious and official engagements across the state.
