constable-wife-arrives-at-police-station-with-toddler:seeks-action-over-locked-house,-returns-after-complaint-not-accepted

The dispute between a ranger and his constable wife in Satna district has intensified. Constable Bharti Upadhyay, posted at Baroundha police station, arrived at the station on Wednesday night with her two-and-a-half-year-old daughter. She wanted to submit an application seeking action to get the lock on Ranger Brijendra Pandey’s government residence opened or broken. However, she alleged that police refused to accept her application. An argument reportedly continued at the police station for a long time. Bharti also recorded a video of the incident and uploaded it on social media. Bharti Upadhyay said the government residence where she was staying had been locked. She claimed she sought an acknowledgement of her application but was not given any receipt. After her complaint was not registered, she returned to Satna late at night with her daughter. Ranger husband’s allegation – Wife stole XUV car, 2 lakh cash and iPhone The development came a day after Ranger Brijendra Pandey lodged a complaint at Baroundha police station. He alleged that on the night of June 16, his wife arrived at his government residence with two other people and left with his Mahindra XUV 3XO, Rs 2 lakh in cash and an iPhone. During the investigation, the allegedly stolen SUV was found in a damaged condition at a workshop in Satna. Police are trying to determine how the vehicle was damaged. Rewa hotel episode at the centre of dispute The controversy began on June 15 when Constable Bharti Upadhyay received information that her husband was staying at a hotel in Rewa. When Bharti reached the hotel, the ranger reportedly denied that anyone was with him. However, a young woman was found inside the room. The confrontation escalated into a major scene from the hotel premises to the road outside. The situation became so tense that the ranger and the woman accompanying him allegedly fled in a dumper truck. An FIR has already been registered against the ranger and his female companion at Chorhata police station in Rewa. Divorce case pending in family court The dispute is not new, and tensions between the couple have existed for a long time. Divorce proceedings between the two have been pending in the Rewa Family Court since 2025, and they had been living separately. Ranger transferred to Sanjay Tiger Reserve Following the controversy surrounding the hotel incident, the government transferred Ranger Brijendra Pandey to Sanjay Tiger Reserve in Sidhi district. According to Baroundha police station in-charge Abhinav Singh, all three matters — the alleged vehicle theft, the hotel controversy and the claim that police refused to accept an application — are being investigated separately and in detail.
