A woman threw her two innocent sons into a 30-foot deep well in Khargone. After this, she jumped, holding her newborn in her arms. When she started suffocating, she came out using a rope. She watched all three children die in agony. She didn’t even shed a single tear for 24 hours. This heart-wrenching incident occurred on Wednesday in Bhomwada village of the Sanawad area. The deceased include Arjun (4), Karan (2), and a 20-day-old newborn. The accused woman, Nani Bai, was presented in court by the police and sent to jail on Thursday. During interrogation, Nani Bai told a shocking story. Dainik Bhaskar spoke with Nani Bai’s husband, Kalu Singh, and SP Ravindra Verma to get to the bottom of the case. Son was born 20 days ago, family came for labor work 10 days ago Nani Bai’s husband, Kalu Singh, told Dainik Bhaskar over the phone that I am not educated. I do labor work. I got married to Nani Bai 7 years ago. We had three sons. The third one was born just 20 days ago. Just 10 days ago, they came with their family from Dehriya village in Khandwa district to work as laborers in the fields of Bhomwada and Malgaon. They were staying in the field of farmer Baliram Bhamoria of Bhomwada. The maternal uncle’s son and other relatives live nearby. Like every day, I left for work on Wednesday morning around 7 o’clock. My elder son Karan insisted on going to the farm, but I refused. I told my wife to take care of the children before leaving. About an hour and a half later, at 8:30, I received a call on my nephew’s mobile that one son had drowned in water. Upon hearing this, I ran towards home. After running about 3 kilometers, I found two children’s bodies in the water. I learned that the newborn’s body was submerged in the well. Hearing this, I couldn’t understand anything. Nearby, my wife Nani Bai was in a state of distress. When asked, she said, a man wearing black clothes pushed her and the children into the well. When family members asked if she could identify the man in black clothes, she refused. SP said, ‘When there were no tears, suspicion arose’ SP Ravindra Verma said that after removing the bodies of all three children, they were buried, but there were neither tears in Nani Bai’s eyes nor sadness on her face. The woman had told family members that she had jumped into the well with the newborn to save the children who had fallen in. Suspicion arose about why there was a need to jump in with a newborn to save them. Nani Bai also knew how to swim. She came out safely instead of saving the children. The police became suspicious of the mother’s behavior even after the death of all three children together. Police took Nani Bai into custody and started interrogation. At first, she tried to mislead, but later confessed to the crime. All three children suffered while the woman watched from above: SP The SP said that during questioning, Nani Bai said that both sons, Karan and Arjun, were playing near the well. The well had about 11 feet of water. At 8 AM, she first pushed both of them into the well. She wanted to die herself, too, so she jumped in with the newborn. When she started suffocating, she grabbed a rope and came out of it herself. She kept watching her three sons dying in agony from above the well. After the children died, she called nearby people and informed them that the children had drowned while playing. Nani Bai said that actually, she couldn’t handle the household work. She was tired of taking care of all three children. She felt like either killing them or dying herself. Nani Bai avoided work, yet killed the children Kalu said that his younger son was born just 20 days ago. He hadn’t even been named yet. His wife was unable to take care of the children. She would also avoid household work. When I was at home, I would do all the work, from cutting vegetables to cooking food. When the children would cry, I would ask her to handle them. Her behavior at home was normal. There were never any fights or disputes. When I asked her the reason for this, she didn’t answer. Later, after 24 hours at the police station, she broke down crying. While crying, she also expressed regret for killing the children, but neither did anyone feel pity for her tears nor trust them.
