The fluctuation in crude oil prices in the international market is now affecting air passengers as well. Air India has added a new surcharge of ₹300 on tickets for its flight from Gwalior to Bengaluru. However, the airline has not clearly explained the reason for this surcharge. Interestingly, along with the surcharge, the airline is also claiming a 20% discount on tickets. This has sparked discussion among passengers. Some travelers say airlines often increase ticket prices first and then offer discounts to make the fare look balanced. Surcharge effective till March 31 Passengers believe that due to international conditions and rising crude oil prices, airlines are gradually passing their operating costs on to travelers. According to local officials of Air India, the surcharge has been implemented for the past two days and will remain effective until March 31 for now. It is worth noting that from Gwalior, regular flights to Delhi and Mumbai are currently operated by IndiGo, while the flight to Bengaluru is operated by Air India. Because of this, the change in ticket prices on this route has become a topic of discussion among passengers.
