A salesman was shot after refusing to give free liquor at a country liquor shop in Pratappura village under Ater police station limits in Bhind on Sunday night. The dispute escalated when the accused opened fire in an attempt to kill him, leaving the salesman seriously injured. Accused arrived while salesman was sitting at the shop The injured salesman has been identified as Ravindra Singh Yadav (35), son of Ramprakash Singh Yadav, a resident of Bilav village. He was sitting at the country liquor shop in Pratappura at the time of the incident. During this time, two youths from the same village, Arpit Kankar and Bhoora Bhadoria, arrived at the shop. Argument began over demand for free liquor According to eyewitnesses, the two accused demanded a bottle of liquor free of cost from Ravindra Singh as soon as they reached the shop. When the salesman insisted on payment, the youths became angry. An argument broke out, which soon turned violent. Fired at close range; life saved as second bullet jammed As the dispute escalated, the accused pulled out a pistol and fired directly at the salesman. Ravindra Singh Yadav collapsed on the spot after being hit and was left seriously injured. The injured salesman stated that after the first shot, a second bullet got jammed in the pistol, preventing another shot from being fired, which saved his life. After the firing, both accused fled the scene. Panic spread in and around the liquor shop after the gunshot, and a crowd gathered at the spot. With the help of local residents, the injured salesman was immediately taken to the district hospital in Bhind. Condition critical in hospital Ravindra Singh Yadav is undergoing treatment at the district hospital, where doctors said his condition remains critical and he is under close observation. On receiving information, Ater police reached the spot and inspected the scene. A complaint has been submitted by the injured salesman. Attempt to murder case registered Police have registered a case of attempted murder against the accused. Raids are being conducted to trace the absconding youths. Ater police said the case is being investigated seriously and the accused will be arrested soon.
