van-blast-in-badnagar-caused-by-firecrackers,-3-arrested:why-was-‘phir-aa-gaye’-written?-ats-forensic-team-probe-motive

After a video showing a van being blown up while suspended from a crane during a Muharram procession in Ujjain surfaced, security agencies launched an investigation. Badnagar police arrested three people and seized the van and crane. The accused claimed they used firecrackers worth ₹8,000 for the explosion. With Ujjain, Unhel, Nagda, and Mahidpur already classified as sensitive areas, the ATS has joined the local police in the probe. Investigators are focusing on three key questions: What was the motive behind the explosion? Why was ‘Le, phir aa gaye’ (Here, we are back’) written on the vehicle? And what explosive was used, and where did it come from? Van blown up hanging 40 feet high in air On the night of 23 June, a Muharram procession in Badnagar’s Adan Mohalla featured a Tata Magic van suspended about 40 feet in the air by a crane. Two youths stood on the vehicle waving red flags, while the van and placards carried by some participants bore the message ‘Le, phir aa gaye’ (Here, we are back). Moments later, the van was blown up, and a video of the incident surfaced. Police arrested Shoaib, son of Gabbu, Zahid, son of Bhura Khan, and Tafsil alias Taslim in connection with the case. A case has also been registered against the crane owner. Explosion carried out with firecrackers worth 8 thousand rupees According to the police, Shoaib had taken out a Muharram procession under the banner of Adan Akhara. He had hung the vehicle, which was kept in scrap, on a crane. Zahid and Tafsil were present in the vehicle at the time of the explosion. They were seen waving flags after the blast. The accused have also provided the police with a bill for purchasing firecrackers worth about 8 thousand rupees, which is being verified. Crane rented for ₹2500 Crane owner Gopal Rathore told the police that members of Adan Akhara had asked to rent a crane for showering flowers. After the rent was fixed at 2500 rupees, the crane was sent along with the driver. Rathore said that he had no information about exploding the vehicle. On Friday, Ujjain’s forensic team and Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) will reach Badnagar and collect samples from the van. Blast carried out in a crowded area SP Pradeep Sharma said that the explosion occurred in a crowded area at Jai Stambh Chowk in Badnagar. After the blast, vehicle parts, glass, and other things fell down. This posed a serious threat to people’s lives. Police conducted flag march Considering the seriousness of the matter, Additional Superintendent of Police Karandeep Singh reached Badnagar with the QRT (Quick Response Team) and conducted a flag march in sensitive areas. He said, Preliminary investigation revealed that rockets and sutli bombs were fitted in the vehicle. Due to its closed windows, gas accumulation led to an explosion-like situation. However, the actual causes can only be confirmed after the forensic investigation report is received.
