In Bhopal, the Lokayukta police conducted raids at four locations linked to former PWD Chief Engineer Govind Prasad (G.P.) Mehra on Thursday morning. The raids were part of an investigation into corruption allegations against him. Cash, gold, silver, luxury vehicles, and documents related to benami properties were seized. Huge cash, gold, silver seized From the Manipuram Colony residence, officials found: From a flat in Opal Regency, Dana Pani, Bhopal, they recovered: Due to the large cash, note-counting machines were brought to the site. Farmhouse seized items At Mehra’s Sohagpur farmhouse, the team recovered: Factory properties investigated K.T. Industries, a PVC pipe manufacturing unit in Govindpura, was also raided. Officials found: Investigation shows the factory is registered under the names of Mehra’s son Rohit Mehra and Kailash Nayak. Benami properties discovered The investigation revealed that G.P. Mehra had purchased benami and known properties worth several crores in Bhopal, Narmadapuram, and Sohagpur, in his and his family members’ names. Case registered under Prevention of Corruption Act Lokayukta SP Durgesh Rathore said that after verification, the allegations were found prima facie true.A case was registered under Section 13(2) read with 13(1)(b) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (amended 2018) against G.P. Mehra
