One woman said, “There is neither electricity nor water. We are dying of thirst.” Another woman said, “We have been living in darkness for nearly two months. We are suffering.” The women told the MLA to first ensure electricity and water supply before asking for votes. Smiling, Lodhi asked, “Then whom will you vote for? Won’t you vote for me?” The women replied, “We will vote for you only, but first arrange electricity and water.” MLA offers water bottle, women say one bottle is not enough During the interaction, Lodhi noticed a baby girl in a woman’s lap and said, “She is our beloved.” The woman responded, “The beloved is dying of thirst. There is no electricity either. Mosquitoes bite us, and we cannot even sleep.” When the woman raised the issue of water, the MLA took a water bottle from his car and handed it to her. The women replied, “What will one bottle of water do?” A villager present there said the village transformer had been damaged for the past two months, leaving the area without electricity. He said he visits people in his constituency every day and that resolving public grievances remains his priority.
