The state government also provided ₹1,274 crore in assistance to large industries under the Investment Promotion Scheme. Addressing the event, the Chief Minister said Madhya Pradesh is rapidly emerging as a major industrial and employment hub and expressed confidence that, if the current pace of growth continues, the state will rank among India’s top three industrial states within the next five years. More than 2,000 participants attend MSME summit The summit brought together over 2,000 participants, including entrepreneurs, startup founders, representatives of financial institutions and banks, e-commerce companies, women’s self-help groups, industry associations and government officials from across the state. An exhibition showcasing government schemes and innovative products was also organised during the event. Several entrepreneurs received land allotment letters and loan sanction letters, while beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Udyam Kranti Yojana were provided financial assistance for their startups. Lower cotton market fee to benefit farmers and textile industry The Chief Minister announced that the state government has reduced the market fee on cotton, a long-standing demand of traders and farmers. He said the higher fee had been driving the cotton trade to neighbouring states, and the reduction is expected to help farmers secure better prices while strengthening the textile industry. Dr Yadav also announced that Bhopal will host the Global Investors Summit (GIS) 2027. He added that the government is also working to address trade-related issues concerning other crops, including pigeon pea (tur). Target: Top 3 industrial states in five years The Chief Minister said industrial investment is growing rapidly in Madhya Pradesh and reiterated the government’s target of making the state one of India’s top three industrial destinations within five years. He said the government’s objective is not only to attract industries but also to create more employment opportunities and encourage entrepreneurship among young people. MSMEs employ more than one crore people According to Dr Yadav, Madhya Pradesh has more than 25 lakh MSME units, providing employment to over 10 million people. He described MSMEs as the backbone of the state’s economy and said the government is continuously supporting them through easier access to capital, markets and modern technology. Women leading more than half of startups The Chief Minister said the number of recognised startups in Madhya Pradesh has increased from around 4,800 in December 2023 to more than 7,700. He noted that more than half of these startups are led by women, adding that the government is encouraging women entrepreneurs at every stage of business development. Focus on product quality Dr Yadav said the government is now focusing not only on increasing the number of industries but also on improving product quality. Over the past two-and-a-half years, around 19,000 MSMEs have received Zero Defect, Zero Effect (ZED) certification, enabling their products to compete more effectively in domestic and international markets. Pending incentive payments cleared According to the Industries Department, all pending incentive payments and liabilities under the MSME Department had been cleared by May 31, 2026. Officials said industries will now receive incentive payments on time, helping strengthen investor confidence. Thirty new industrial areas under development The state currently has more than 150 industrial areas, with 30 new industrial zones under development. Foundation stones were laid and completed projects inaugurated at the summit. The government is also developing facilities such as working women’s hostels to support greater female participation in the industrial workforce. Foreign investments gaining momentum The Chief Minister said several investment agreements signed during previous Global Investors Summits are now being implemented. Companies from Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, the United States and Ireland are investing in sectors including food processing, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and energy, which he said will create significant employment opportunities in the coming years. Discussions on funding, markets and quality The summit featured around 60 exhibition stalls displaying government schemes and innovative products. Three technical sessions were held on expanding market access, improving MSME financing and enhancing product quality. The event was organised by the State MSME Department at Ravindra Bhavan in Bhopal. Besides Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, MSME Minister Chaitanya Kumar Kashyap, Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, Principal Secretary (MSME) Raghvendra Kumar Singh, and Industries Commissioner Dilip Kumar were also present.
