A 35-year-old man allegedly hacked his wife and two young sons to death with an axe while they were asleep in their home in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh. He later died by suicide by jumping in front of a train, police said on Saturday. The incident took place in Kishanpur village under Mata Basaiya police station limits. Police said the motive behind the murders and suicide is yet to be established. See pictures Attacked family while they were asleep According to police, Balram Singh Kushwaha attacked his 32-year-old wife, Ravita Kushwaha, with an axe late on Friday night while she was sleeping. He then killed their two sons — 8-year-old Aarav and 5-year-old Debu. All three died on the spot. After the killings, Balram left the house and reached the Shikarpur railway crossing, where he allegedly jumped in front of a moving train and died. Police begin investigation Police, senior officers and the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team reached the village after receiving information on Saturday morning. The crime scene was inspected and evidence was collected. Headquarters DSP Vijay Bhadauria said police are questioning relatives, neighbours and other villagers to determine what led to the incident. The exact reason behind the murders and the suicide remains unknown. All four bodies have been sent to Morena for post-mortem examination.
