Tiger movement has been observed in Bhopal’s Chandanpura area. On Friday morning, people out for a morning walk spotted a tiger. The tiger came very close to a couple. When the woman screamed, the tiger went into the bushes. After receiving information, the Forest Department team reached the spot and started searching. Wildlife expert Rashid Noor stated that a large fence is installed in the area, but a part of it is open. The tiger likely uses that route for movement. Woman mistakes tiger for dog A woman out for a morning walk with her husband said an animal passed very close to her. At first, she thought it was a dog, but soon realised it was a tiger. Her husband was walking a short distance away. When she called out to him, the tiger disappeared into the bushes. Several others nearby also spotted the tiger, while some claimed they heard it roar. The sighting triggered panic among morning walkers, with many fleeing the area and others recording the tiger from a safe distance. Tiger entered farmhouse boundary According to eyewitnesses, the tiger later entered the boundary of a private farmhouse located in Chandanpura. The incident is said to have occurred between 6:30 and 7 am. After receiving information, a Forest Department team arrived at the scene around 9 am and launched a search operation. Increasing threat of human-tiger conflict According to Rashid Noor, the Chandanpura area is close to the natural corridor of tigers. Tiger presence has been recorded here for a long time. On the other hand, human movement is also continuously increasing due to morning walks, strolls, and other activities. He stated that there is no permanent forest department outpost in the area. Additionally, ongoing construction work and land development are affecting the natural paths of tigers. If effective steps are not taken in time, incidents of conflict between tigers and humans may increase in the future. Forest department’s appeal The forest department has appealed to people to avoid morning walks or going to areas adjacent to the forest in the Chandanpura area and its surroundings until the search operation is complete. The team is continuously engaged in tracing the tiger’s location.
