A case of firing at the house of a jeweller in broad daylight was reported in Madhya Pradesh’s Ratlam district on Friday. Four miscreants arriving on two motorcycles opened fire at the residence of jeweller Kamal Soni. The bullet pierced a window and entered the house. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras. The incident took place in Saifi Nagar under the Deendayal Nagar area. The firing incident came to light at around 4.30 pm on Friday. According to information, four miscreants riding on two motorcycles arrived at Kamal Soni’s house with their faces covered. One of the men sitting on the pillion seat fired towards the house. Police team reached the spot after firing After receiving information about the firing, Additional Superintendent of Police Rakesh K. Pandro, CSP Satyendra Ghanghoria, Deendayal Nagar police station in-charge Anurag Yadav, the cyber team and police personnel reached the spot. Officials inspected the scene and gathered details of the incident from the jeweller. The businessman told police that on Thursday night, some unidentified persons had broken the window glass of his car parked near his house. A pistol had also been placed inside the vehicle. Stones were allegedly thrown at the car. An FIR has been registered against unknown miscreants. The footage reportedly shows four miscreants arriving in front of the house on two motorcycles. One of them opened fire before fleeing. At the time of the incident, the jeweller’s wife was sleeping on the ground floor of the house, while their two sons were on the upper floor. After hearing the sound of shattering glass, his wife woke up and informed their sons. Family members inspected the house and found an empty bullet shell inside. They then checked the CCTV footage, which showed the miscreants firing at the residence. Dispute Related to Share Market and MCX Transactions Jeweller Kamal Soni, son of Ratanlal Soni, said that some individuals had been visiting his house and threatening him over the past eight days. He alleged that on Thursday, his younger son had lodged a fraud complaint at Sarwan police station against Aditya Somani, son of Rajesh Somani, a resident of Sarwan, in connection with share market-related dealings. According to Kamal Soni, after the complaint was filed, Aditya Somani’s brother, Saurabh Somani, threatened him. He alleged that these individuals were behind the attack on his house and had been issuing threats continuously. Soni further claimed that his son had been drawn into share market business by these people and that around Rs 35 lakh, raised after selling a house, had been taken away. Allegation made against former divisional coordinator of Bajrang Dal Kamal Soni alleged that Vinu Sharma, who introduces himself as the district president of Bajrang Dal, was involved in the matter. According to him, Vinu Sharma visited his house on June 6, June 13 and June 17 and allegedly warned that bullets would be fired at the residence. Soni said he was not aware whether Vinu Sharma currently held any position in Bajrang Dal. Due to the repeated threats, he claimed he had been unable to open his jewellery shop. The businessman also stated that Vinu Sharma, against whom allegations have been made, had previously been convicted in another case and is currently out on bail. Accused fled after breaking car window the night before The jeweller said that on Thursday night, some people had also come near his house and damaged the glass of his car parked outside. Neighbours informed him about the presence of suspicious persons around the vehicle. When he went outside, he found the car window broken and a pistol placed inside. He immediately informed Dial-112. Police reached the spot and seized the weapon. Bajrang Dal said – Vinu Sharma is not on any post Bajrang Dal district convenor Mukesh Vyas said that Vinu Sharma had earlier served as a divisional convenor in the organisation but does not currently hold any post. Police said- Searching for criminals based on CCTV Additional SP Rakesh K. Pandro said unidentified motorcycle-borne miscreants were involved in the firing. He said efforts were underway to identify and trace the accused using CCTV footage. Police teams are investigating the case and questioning members of the family. “All facts are being examined thoroughly and the matter is being investigated from every angle,” he said.
