The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has released the schedule for the main examination of the State Service Exam-2025 for candidates who qualified in the preliminary stage. The commission issued the exam programme following the High Court order dated June 18, 2026. The main examination will be conducted from August 17 to August 22, 2026, across 12 cities in the state. According to MPPSC, around 4,000 candidates will appear in the State Service Main Examination. The exam is being conducted for a total of 158 posts. The commission has issued a fresh timetable immediately after the court lifted the stay. The High Court has also directed that the exam results be submitted to the court in a sealed cover. Main Examination will have 6 Question Papers As per the commission, the main examination will consist of six papers. The first four papers will be based on General Studies, while the fifth and sixth papers will be related to Hindi and essay writing. The first four papers will be conducted from 10 am to 1 pm. The last two papers will be held in the afternoon, scheduled till 12 noon and 12:30 pm respectively. Exam centers set up in these 12 cities The examination will be held in 12 cities of Madhya Pradesh. These include Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Chhindwara, Ratlam, Satna, Sagar, Shahdol, Barwani, Ujjain and Balaghat. Application process will begin from June 25 Candidates who have qualified in the prelims will have to apply online for the main examination. The application process will begin on June 25, 2026 and continue till July 15, 2026. Applications can be submitted through MP Online and the official MPPSC website. Corrections in application can be made till July 17 The commission has provided a correction window from June 30 to July 17, 2026, with a fee of Rs 50 for making changes in the application form. Admit cards will be available for download from August 10 Admit cards for the main examination will be available online from August 10, 2026. The commission has clarified that admit cards will not be sent by post. Candidates who fail to apply within the stipulated time will be given an opportunity with late fees. Applications can be submitted with a late fee of Rs 3,000 from July 16 to July 22. A final chance will be available from July 23 to July 27 with a special late fee of Rs 25,000. Candidates will have to pay a fee of 800 rupees For SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer), EWS and differently-abled candidates from Madhya Pradesh, the application fee is Rs 400. For general category and candidates from outside the state, the fee is Rs 800. Around 4 thousand candidates will appear in the main examination MPPSC OSD Ravindra Panchbhai said that around 4,000 candidates will appear for the main examination. The application process will begin soon after interim relief from the High Court. Two MPPSC examinations will clash with UPSC A scheduling issue has emerged as the MPPSC main exam dates overlap with the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) mains examination. UPSC mains will begin on August 21, while MPPSC papers are scheduled on August 21 and 22. In such cases, MPPSC OSD Ravindra Panchbhai said that candidates facing a clash between the two exams can submit an application to the commission, which will be considered. New schedule released after High Court stay was lifted It is noteworthy that the State Service Main Examination was earlier scheduled to be held from June 9, 2025, but due to a petition filed in the High Court, a stay was imposed on it on April 2, 2025. About a year later, on June 18, 2026, the High Court lifted the stay on the examination. After this, MPPSC announced new dates for the main examination. A total of 158 posts will be filled through this recruitment examination.
