imarti-devi-invites-digvijaya-singh-to-bjp:says-congress-no-longer-respects-its-senior-leaders

Factionalism and internal discord within the Madhya Pradesh Congress have once again sparked a political row. The controversy erupted after a video from a recent press conference at the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) office went viral on social media. In the video, PCC chief Jitu Patwari was seen gesturing to former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh to change his seat. The BJP has since been attacking the Congress, accusing it of disrespecting its senior leaders. The controversy has now drawn former minister and Jyotiraditya Scindia loyalist Imarti Devi into the fray. The former Dabra MLA targeted the Congress organisation and PCC chief Jitu Patwari, saying that the party has completely fallen apart since he took over as state president and that its condition continues to deteriorate. Imarti Devi said that even a senior leader like Digvijaya Singh no longer commands respect within the Congress and is being sidelined publicly. She claimed that the Congress could never match the Bharatiya Janata Party and that the party’s decline was inevitable. Imarti invites Digvijaya Singh to join BJP Extending an open invitation to Digvijaya Singh to join the BJP, Imarti Devi said, “The Bharatiya Janata Party is a vast ocean. If Digvijaya Singh joins the BJP, he will be welcomed with full respect.” Former minister and Digvijaya Singh’s son, Jaiwardhan Singh, hit back at Imarti Devi’s remarks. He said she should first assess her own standing within the BJP. “Had she remained in the Congress, she would still have been an MLA. Both the BJP and the public have rejected her,” he said. It is worth noting that during a recent Congress press conference, a video went viral showing Jitu Patwari gesturing to Digvijaya Singh, who was seated on the stage, to move to another chair. The BJP has been using the video to accuse the Congress of humiliating its senior leaders.
