A road accident in Chhatarpur city turned violent late on Thursday night, triggering chaos near the Vindhyavasini Temple Police Post for nearly five hours. Three youths riding a Pulsar motorcycle allegedly crashed into a scooter carrying a couple and their three-year-old daughter, leaving all three injured. According to the victims, the motorcyclists were riding recklessly and performing stunts when the collision occurred. After the accident, the injured husband objected to their behaviour, demanded medical treatment and removed the bike’s key. This reportedly enraged one of the accused, who rushed to his home in the nearby Toria locality. The accused allegedly returned within minutes with more than half a dozen youths armed with sticks and iron rods. The group then attacked the couple and vandalised their scooter. When the woman tried to protect her husband, she was also assaulted. The victim woman has alleged that during the attack, the accused forcibly snatched her three-year-old daughter from her lap and threw the child onto the road. The girl, who was already crying after the accident, suffered serious injuries in the incident. The violent clash created tension in the area and led to a prolonged disturbance near the police post. Police are investigating the matter based on the allegations made by the victims. The first FIR was filed on the complaint of the victim, Yogendra Kumar Shriwas (25). Yogendra stated that on Thursday night around 8:30 PM, he was returning home to Saura Road Tighadda from his plot at Laloni Tighadda with his wife Komal Shriwas and daughter Anvi. During this time, an incident of dispute, assault, and vandalism occurred with them. In this case, the police have registered a case against Zulfi, Chhotu, Sahil, Nishu, Chhotu Khan, Bhura, and two unknown persons. Case also registered for obstructing government work A separate FIR has also been registered on the complaint of City Kotwali constable Naresh Patihar in the case of clashing with the police and obstructing government work during the incident. In this case too, Zulfi, Chhotu, Sahil, Nishu, Chhotu Khan, Bhura, and two unknown individuals have been made accused. All the accused are absconding.
