At the 15th National Biathlon/Triathlon Championship (Swimming) held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, young athletes from Gwalior, Shreya Sahu and Veer, delivered an outstanding performance in the Under-11 category, bringing pride to their state and sports community. Strong performance in national competition In the prestigious national event held from 31 May to 4 June 2026, Shreya Sahu secured the second position in the Biathlon event, winning the silver medal with her speed and precision. In the same highly competitive category, Veer Bharadwaj also performed exceptionally well and secured third place, winning the bronze medal. Tough competition among the country’s stalwarts The five-day championship witnessed participation from top-ranked and talented athletes from across the country. In the highly competitive Under-11 category, both young athletes displayed remarkable courage, discipline and skill. Their achievement has brought pride not only to their parents but also to the entire sports community in Gwalior. Credit to coaches for success The success of the players has been credited to months of rigorous training by their coaches. Head coach and Modern Pentathlon Secretary Vinod Jatav and assistant coach Shivam Raikwar were specially acknowledged for their guidance. Their structured training schedule, scientific approach and continuous mentorship helped the young athletes achieve success at the national level. Discipline and Self-confidence are the Keys to Victory Expressing happiness over the achievement, Shreya’s father Anil Sahu and head coach Vinod Jatav said that regular practice, discipline and strong self-confidence are the real keys to success, which the children have demonstrated. Assistant coach Shivam Raikwar also congratulated both medal winners and wished them a bright future, expressing hope that they will represent India at the international level in the coming years.
