Unemployment is pushing youth onto paths that are difficult to even imagine. A shocking revelation has emerged regarding ‘Transgenders’ extorting money from passengers at Jabalpur Railway Station and in trains. In an action by the Railway Protection Force (RPF), it has come to light that many eunuchs roaming in trains are actually young men who are moving around in fake disguises merely for easy earnings and due to financial constraints. In 6 months, RPF has caught around 120 people, of which 60% (approximately more than 60) turned out to be young men. Secret revealed when 3 suspicious ‘transgenders’ were taken into custody After continuously receiving complaints of forced extortion from passengers on trains, RPF conducted a special checking campaign on June 3. During this, the team detained three suspicious transgender persons. When they were interrogated strictly, the truth came out. These three were neither women nor transgender persons, but were actually young men who were deceiving passengers by changing their attire in an astonishing manner. Left home in pants-shirt, wore saree before reaching station Among the arrested accused are Ashish (changed name – Ashi), Mahesh (Mahi), and Pinchu (Tarannum), residents of Kanpur. Their modus operandi can surprise anyone. All three live together in a rented room in Gayatri Nagar, Jabalpur. They leave home dressed in pants and shirts like ordinary boys. Just before reaching the railway station, they wear sarees or suits at some safe place. They apply sindoor in the parting of their hair. They do heavy makeup and completely take on the appearance of kinnars (transgender persons). Their voice and manner of walking and talking is so accurate that not just common passengers, even the police can be fooled. Daily earnings 1500 to 2000: If not cash, then QR code ready The arrested accused Ashish revealed that he wandered in several cities looking for a job, but when he couldn’t find work, he chose this path after watching videos on social media. Taking advantage of passengers’ fear and hesitation, these people collect 10 to 100 rupees per passenger. This brings their daily earnings to 1,500 to 2,000 rupees. If any passenger says they don’t have loose change or cash, they immediately pull out their mobile phone from their pocket and present a QR code for online payment. Several youth are considering undergoing an operation RPF officers revealed that this business offers such substantial and easy earnings without any investment that some youth are now even considering undergoing gender change operation (sex reassignment). The accused are well aware that if caught under the Railway Act, they can easily and very quickly get bail from the court. Taking advantage of this lenient law, they are roaming around fearlessly. Running the network while living in rented houses RPF Post In-charge Rajeev Kharab said that most of the arrested youth are residents of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. These people have formed proper gangs in railway junction areas like Jabalpur, Katni, Narsinghpur, Itarsi and are running this network while living in rented houses. Real transgender community angry, said- Our image is being tarnished After this revelation, the real transgender community has also registered sharp protest. Mahi Kinnar of Jabalpur says- Because of these fake transgenders, our entire community is being defamed. These gangs of boys misbehave and forcibly extort money from people from trains to neighborhoods, due to which people start misunderstanding us. The administration should take strictest legal action against such fraudsters.
