A mother and her teenage daughter remain trapped under debris after the wall of a newly constructed well collapsed in Seoni district of Madhya Pradesh on Monday. The incident occurred while the family was curing the well with water. A 75-year-old grandmother was rescued by villagers and rushed to hospital, while efforts are ongoing to save the other two family members. According to local residents, members of the Janghela family had recently constructed a well about 400 metres from their home. The well’s cement wall had been built only a few days ago. On Monday, Samaniya Bai Janghela, 75, had gone to the well along with her daughter Anusuya Janghela, 41, and granddaughter Swati Janghela, 17, to carry out water curing work.
