Residents of nearly 75 localities connected to Bhopal’s Kolar water supply network will not receive piped water on June 2 and 3 due to essential repair work on the Kolar gravity main pipeline. According to the Municipal Corporation, repair work will begin at 10 am on June 2 and continue until 10 am on June 3. As a result, water supply will remain disrupted on both days in the affected areas. Tankers to be deployed for water supply To minimise inconvenience to residents, the Municipal Corporation has announced that water tankers will be deployed to supply drinking water in the affected localities during the shutdown period. Areas likely to be affected Zone 3 Nariyal Kheda, Regiment Road, Shahjahanabad, Murgi Bazar, Ram Nagar, Resham Kendra, East Nishatpura and West Nishatpura. Zone 4 Chouksey Nagar, Green Park, Indira Sahayata Nagar, DIG Bungalow area, Shanti Nagar, Sindhi Colony, Bhopal Talkies, Hamidia Road, Sangam Talkies and nearby localities. Zone 5 Moti Masjid, Ginnori, Ibrahimpura, Budhwara, Itwara, Mangalwara, Kali Mandir area, Islampura, Central Library area and Chhawani. Zone 6 1100 Quarters, Shahpura, Trilanga, E-7 Arera Colony, Panchsheel Nagar, Shyam Nagar and 12 Number Multi. Zone 7 Tulsi Nagar, Mata Mandir, Chakki Chauraha and Shivaji Nagar. Zone 8 Char Imli, Shivaji Nagar, Chuna Bhatti, Kolar Basti, Durga Nagar, Pampapur, Rahul Nagar Basti, Rahul Nagar Multi, Vaishali Nagar, Suruchi Nagar, Nivesh Nagar, Nehru Nagar, Kotra Sultanabad, Naya Basera, Ambedkar Nagar and Government Quarters, Kotra Sultanabad. Zone 10 MP Nagar Zone-2, Shivaji Nagar, Arera Colony (E-1 to E-7), Ishwar Nagar, Gulmohar G-3, Gulmohar Colony, Laxman Nagar, Bharat Nagar, Sai Baba Board area and Janata Quarters. Residents advised to store water Civic officials have advised residents in the affected areas to store sufficient water in advance to avoid inconvenience during the two-day disruption. The Municipal Corporation said normal water supply would resume once the repair work on the Kolar gravity main is completed.
