The main accused in the Tonkkala firecracker factory blast case in Dewas district was arrested by police on Thursday. The accused, Mukesh Vij, was detained by a Dewas Police team at Delhi airport on Thursday, immediately after returning to India from Guangzhou, China. Police had been searching for him for a long time following the deadly factory explosion. According to officials, Mukesh Vij had remained out of police custody since the blast at the firecracker factory. Investigators received information that he was staying in Guangzhou and was scheduled to return to India. Based on the intelligence input, Dewas Police detained the accused at the Delhi airport soon after his return from China. Six people died in the explosion Mukesh Vij has been named the main accused in the massive explosion at the Tonkkala firecracker factory, which had claimed six lives. Following his arrest, the police team has taken him into custody and is completing further legal formalities. Officials said Mukesh Vij will be brought to Dewas for detailed questioning regarding the blast and the functioning of the firecracker factory. Police are expected to interrogate him about the circumstances leading to the explosion and possible violations linked to the incident.
