A government school teacher in Rewa allegedly attempted suicide on Thursday morning by slitting his wrist, reportedly distressed over alleged harassment by a police officer and a journalist. The teacher also left behind a five-page suicide note accusing the two individuals of mentally torturing him. He was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where his condition is said to be critical. Shared photo in teachers’ group after suicide attempt According to sources, immediately after taking the extreme step, the teacher shared his photograph in a teachers’ messaging group. After seeing the image, fellow teachers immediately informed his family members. At the time of the incident, the teacher was present in his native village, while his family was in Rewa city. The family then alerted neighbours, who rushed him to the hospital. Suicide note names police officer and journalist The injured teacher has been identified as Anil Kumar Tiwari, posted at CM Rise School (Government Higher Secondary School), Lalgaon. In his alleged five-page suicide note, Tiwari blamed the officer in-charge of University Police Station and journalist Nishant Mishra alias Ankit for his deteriorating mental condition. He reportedly wrote that he could no longer bear the “oppression of sinners.” Wrote a 5-page suicide note, shared the picture on the teachers’ group Son says dispute began over cutting of tree According to the teacher’s son, the dispute began over the cutting of a green tree located on their land. The family alleged that members of the Mishra family cut down the tree without permission. When the teacher objected, he was allegedly threatened and falsely implicated in a police case. The son claimed his father was under severe mental stress following the incident, which ultimately pushed him to take the extreme step.
