An 8-year-old girl was allegedly assaulted in Rajgarh district on suspicion of ringing a doorbell and running away. The accused also allegedly tried to drag the child inside his house. The frightened girl managed to call the station in-charge herself and narrated the incident. The incident took place on Sunday in Khujner town. Following the girl’s complaint, police initiated action late at night. According to police, the child from Khilchipur had come to her maternal grandfather’s house in Sadar Bazaar, Khujner, to spend her summer holidays. On Sunday, some children in the locality were allegedly ringing doorbells of houses and running away. During this, a shopkeeper named Rajesh Sahu caught hold of the girl. He questioned her about ringing the bell, which she denied. He allegedly slapped her on the cheeks and head Family members said that after this, Rajesh Sahu forcibly tried to pull the minor inside his house. However, the girl resisted by placing her foot against the door and raised an alarm for help. Angered by this, he allegedly slapped her repeatedly on the head and cheeks. Hearing her cries, family members rushed to the spot and rescued the child. A verbal argument also took place between them and Rajesh. Father filed application, search for accused continues Late at night, the girl’s father reached Khujner police station and submitted a formal complaint against Rajesh Sahu.
