A high-speed bike hit a cyclist head-on in Mauganj, leaving the cyclist thrown violently into the air. The impact was so severe that he was lifted nearly 6 feet in the air before landing about 25 feet away. He died on the spot. The bike-riding couple sustained serious injuries. CCTV footage of the accident has also surfaced. The accident took place on Sunday morning near Lalganj Tirahe on the Nai Garhi–Mauganj road. Subhash Kumar Saket alias Neelu, a 19-year-old resident of Dihiya village, was returning home on his bicycle after collecting tendu leaves when a speeding Pulsar bike hit him. Santosh and the injured bike-riding couple were sent to Nai Garhi hospital. Doctors declared Subhash dead on arrival. The bike rider, Raees Sahu (22), a resident of Mahsaun, along with his wife Preeti Sahu (21), was referred to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Rewa in a serious condition. Raees was travelling with his wife from his in-laws’ house in Hinouti village to visit the Ashtabhuja Dham temple. Nai Garhi police station in-charge Rishi Kumar Dwivedi said that CCTV footage from a camera installed near the accident site was obtained on Monday. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
