A woman from Bholnath Colony in Indore approached the Aerodrome police station on Thursday, alleging that she was thrown out of her house along with her one-and-a-half-month-old child following a dispute over a social media status related to B. R. Ambedkar. According to the complaint, the incident took place on April 14, the birth anniversary of Ambedkar. The woman, identified as Reena Panwar, had posted a WhatsApp status related to Baba Saheb. Her family alleged that her sisters-in-law objected to the post and pressured her to remove it. When she refused, the argument escalated. Husband accused of abuse, threats Reena’s husband, Ritesh Panwar, allegedly used abusive language during the dispute and threatened to divorce her. The family claimed that he then forced Reena out of the house along with their infant child. Reena, who is originally from Bihar, had married Ritesh around one-and-a-half years ago in an inter-state arrangement facilitated by their families. At the time of the marriage, there was no objection raised regarding religious beliefs, the family said. Police response Reena reached the Aerodrome police station on Thursday evening carrying her child to lodge a complaint. According to the family, a head constable on duty initially advised her to approach the court. However, after the matter was brought to the attention of the station in-charge, TI Tarun Baghel, he assured the family that appropriate action would be taken after hearing their concerns. Police said further investigation into the matter is underway.
