The Madhya Pradesh High Court, Indore Bench, on Thursday adjourned the hearing in the high-profile Bhojshala dispute cases till April 17. A division bench comprising Justice Vijay Kumar Shukla and Justice Alok Awasthi deferred the matter after senior advocate A.K. Chitale, appearing for the petitioners, sought additional time to conclude his arguments. Multiple petitions being heard together A total of five petitions and appeals related to the Bhojshala dispute are currently being heard together. These cases involve various aspects of the long-standing controversy. Lawyers representing the central government, state government, petitioners, and intervenors were present during the hearing. Intervenors to get opportunity next The court clarified that once the senior counsel completes arguments in the next hearing, intervenors in petitions (WP-10497/2022 and WP-10484/2022) will be given an opportunity to present their side. This would ensure equal opportunity for all parties involved. Arguments also presented via video conferencing Several senior advocates joined the proceedings via video conferencing. Among those present were Vishnu Shankar Jain, Vinay Joshi, Additional Solicitor General Sunil Kumar Jain, and Advocate General Prashant Singh. Court issues procedural direction The High Court directed that a copy of the order be placed on record in all related cases to maintain uniformity in the hearing process. All eyes are now on the next hearing scheduled for April 17.
