‘post-covid-heart-deaths-rising’,-says-cm:govt-plans-to-ensure-cardiac-treatment-facilities-in-every-district-soon

A service initiative was launched by the BJP Medical Cell at the state BJP office in Bhopal on Tuesday. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated the helpdesk along with BJP state president Hemant Khandelwal, state in-charge Dr. Mahendra Singh, and Deputy CM Rajendra Shukla. ‘Rising deaths due to heart diseases after COVID’ Addressing the gathering, CM Mohan Yadav said that heart-related ailments have emerged as the leading cause of deaths after the COVID-19 pandemic. “Many young people are dying suddenly while dancing, driving, or during routine activities. This is a serious concern,” he said. He added that the government is working on a pilot project to ensure timely cardiac treatment at divisional and district levels, which will later be implemented across the state. Free spectacles for the poor The Chief Minister announced that under the service initiative, free eye check-up camps will be organised in villages and localities. “If people are diagnosed with vision problems and need spectacles, the government will provide them free of cost,” he said, urging workers to conduct door-to-door eye check-ups, especially for women who may be unaware of deteriorating eyesight. ‘Public service continues despite challenges’ Referring to recent concerns over hospital accreditation, the CM said that even if hospitals lack NABH certification or adequate nursing staff, doctors are still serving patients. “Our focus is on ensuring public service and improving healthcare access across the state,” he said. Medical colleges in every district The CM highlighted that the government is working towards establishing medical colleges in nearly every district of Madhya Pradesh. “Earlier, students had to go abroad to countries like Afghanistan and Kazakhstan for medical education. Now, we are opening medical colleges locally,” he said. He added that: He said that with ongoing projects, the state will soon have around 52 medical colleges across its 55 districts, and the number could reach around 60 including private institutions. Expansion of Ayurveda and super-speciality care The CM also announced that 13 Ayurvedic medical colleges are being set up across the state. Plans are underway to develop super-speciality hospitals and a “Medi-City” in Ujjain to strengthen healthcare infrastructure. Policy for highway hospitals Highlighting rising road accidents, the CM said the government is planning a policy to build hospitals along highways. “Investors setting up large hospitals on highways will receive a 30% subsidy,” he said. Financial aid for accident victims Under the ‘Rahveer Yojana’, individuals who help accident victims reach hospitals will be rewarded with ₹25,000. Additionally, the government will provide free treatment of up to ₹1.5 lakh for injured persons. The CM also directed that treatment under the Ayushman scheme should begin within 1–2 hours of hospital admission, instead of waiting up to 24 hours for confirmation. Focus on faster healthcare access The Chief Minister reiterated that the government’s priority is to ensure timely and accessible healthcare for all, stating that schemes like Ayushman Bharat are among the most comprehensive in the world.
