A case of serious negligence in food delivery has surfaced in Indore during Navratri. Amid fasting and prayers, a family was delivered a non-vegetarian dish instead of a vegetarian order. Hurt by the incident, the family lodged an complaint on Monday. The incident took place in Gulabbagh. Mobile businessman Rahul Tiwari said that Navratri prayers were underway at his home on Sunday evening when he placed an order via Zomato in veg mode. He ordered a combo pack (roti, butter paneer, rice, etc.) along with chilli paneer. The order, worth around ₹363, was delivered within 15 minutes. Family was stunned to see non-veg According to Rahul, when the family opened the package, the other items in the combo were correct, but chilli chicken was delivered instead of chilli paneer. Seeing a non-vegetarian dish during the fasting period left the family shocked and hurt their religious sentiments. The parcel was then kept outside the house. However, when the concerned restaurant ‘Night King’ (Mahalaxmi Nagar) was contacted, the management termed it a mistake but refused to take back the parcel. Rahul Tiwari later submitted a written complaint at Lasudia police station on Monday, after which an FIR was registered. Will also file complaint in Consumer Forum Rahul said his family is Brahmin and such negligence during the sacred festival of Navratri is highly objectionable. He has demanded strict action in the matter and said he will also approach the consumer forum. Police said a case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
