A violent truck collision in Indore completely changed the life of a promising flute player. In the accident, the young man suffered a serious head injury which caused him to lose his mental balance. Due to deep injuries in many parts of his body, he has been bedridden for the past eight years and has become completely dependent on his family. His condition is so serious that he can no longer recognize anyone. This student, once skilled at playing the flute, is now lost in his own world. In this case, the court has ordered the truck’s insurance company to pay compensation of 59 lakh rupees, which amounts to about 85 lakh rupees including interest. This accident occurred on July 8, 2018. 18-year-old Vaibhav Trivedi, a resident of Panchvati Nagar in Indore, was coming from Depalpur to Indore on his bike. That’s when a speeding truck coming from the wrong side hit him. In the accident, he suffered serious injuries to his head, limbs, back, abdomen, and waist among other parts. He was admitted to a private hospital, where he remained under treatment for one and a half months. Can only lie in bed and watch, has no consciousness-awareness During treatment, he underwent head surgeries. Along with that, his left leg was operated on and a rod was inserted. His jaw was also operated on, but he remains bedridden. In this condition, he can only see, and cannot recognize anyone except a few family members. Doctors say his condition will now remain permanent. Vaibhav used to teach tuition along with doing an animation course from which he earned 10 thousand rupees. Insurance company said – Driver did not have valid license After the accident, the victim student’s father Surendra Trivedi filed a case for compensation in the district court on March 7, 2019. He demanded compensation of about 79 lakh rupees. In this case, truck driver Yogesh Verma (resident of Bajrang Nagar, Indore), truck owner Mehmood Khan (resident of Chandan Nagar) and National Insurance Company Limited were made parties. In the case, the insurance company argued that the truck driver did not have a valid and effective driving license, therefore the company is not responsible for this accident. These arguments were presented by advocate Arun Tripathi on behalf of Trivedi Court orders insurance company to pay 59 lakh rupees Advocate Tripathi cited more than 10 case precedents during the hearing. After hearings that continued for about 8 years, the court delivered its verdict on February 19. In this case, the court has ordered National Insurance Company to pay compensation of 59 lakh rupees to Vaibhav’s father. This amount is divided into different categories. Thus, an order was given to obtain compensation of Rs. 59.04 lakh from National Insurance Company, truck owner and driver. In seven years (from filing the case in court till judgment), this amount becomes Rs. 85 lakh. The insurance company has to deposit this amount to the tribunal within 30 days. The case was strengthened due to these arguments and facts Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia was also greatly impressed by Vaibhav In Vaibhav’s family, there are his father, mother Jyoti, and three elder sisters Radhika, Monica and Meenakshi. Radhika and Monica are married. Father Surendra Trivedi said that Vaibhav is the youngest and most beloved in the family. Since the accident, he has been bedridden. He can barely recognize family members and can only speak one or two words. Besides this, he is not aware of anything else. The special thing is that he was a good flute player which provided him with good income. Even the renowned flute player Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia was quite impressed with his playing and had invited him to Mumbai. After the accident that followed, the family’s happiness was destroyed. Family members take care of him. They also feel happy watching videos of his flute performances.
