Air India Express’s Indore-Sharjah flight cancelled till March 22:Bookings opened from March 23; fare from Dubai to Indore via Mumbai reaches 1 lakh

Passengers from Indore and other parts of Madhya Pradesh who are stranded in the UAE have received another setback as Air India Express has cancelled its Sharjah–Indore–Sharjah flight until March 22. The airline has also removed the flight from its website, forcing many travellers to look for other routes to return to India. Earlier, the airline had said the flight was cancelled because Sharjah Airport was closed. However, even after flight services resumed at the airport, the airline has not restarted the Indore route. Many passengers had already booked tickets earlier for around Rs 12,000 to Rs 15,000, but they are now left without a direct option. With the flight not operating, passengers are now searching for alternative routes through cities such as Dubai and Mumbai. Ticket prices on these routes have increased sharply, with fares ranging from Rs 80,000 to nearly Rs 1 lakh. The airline’s booking system currently shows that the flight will remain cancelled until March 22, and bookings are being accepted only from March 23. However, passengers remain uncertain about whether the service will actually restart on that date. Meanwhile, passengers were troubled by Star Air’s flight last night At Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport in Indore, passengers travelling to and from Gondia and Mumbai faced significant trouble on Monday. Star Air cancelled all four of its flights to and from Mumbai and Gondia. Star Air commenced flight operations between Indore, Mumbai, and Gondia from January 15. This flight arrives in Indore from Mumbai at 5:50 PM and departs for Gondia at 6:20 PM. From Gondia, it arrives in Indore at 9:30 PM and returns to Mumbai at 10 PM, but yesterday the company cancelled all four of these flights. The company cited operational reasons for this. When passengers arrived at the airport to travel on these flights, they were informed about the flight cancellations. Upon this, passengers demanded alternative arrangements, but the company only offered passengers the option of a refund and re-booking.
