The accused sisters, Amreen and Afreen, arrested by Bhopal’s Bagsewania police in the conversion and rape case, are currently in jail. Meanwhile, the police investigation is revealing several shocking details. About 20 years ago, both sisters came to Bhopal from Lucknow with their family. The family belongs to an Iranian tribe. After settling in Bhopal, their father worked as a craftsman in a tailor’s shop, and the family somehow managed to survive on this income. During the investigation, police also found that both sisters had links with the Iranian camp, and evidence is being collected regarding this connection. In 2020, during the Covid period, their father passed away. After his death, the sisters decided to start working. Amreen first got a job at a spa center in Narmadapuram, and later helped her younger sister Afreen get a job at a spa as well. During this time, they came into contact with several high-profile people. Gradually, both sisters became involved in prostitution themselves and later pushed other girls into the same racket. Sisters allegedly pushed 5–7 girls into prostitution Two sisters married, one brother mentally ill Amreen and Afreen have four sisters and two brothers. Among the sisters, two are married, while one of their brothers is mentally ill. Bilal, who is also accused in the case, is their cousin. He is originally from Mumbai and had been living with the sisters at their house in Abbas Nagar, Bhopal. Police have now received information suggesting that Bilal may currently be in Mumbai. Both victims who filed the FIR have also alleged that the gang of Amreen and Afreen was involved in MD drug trafficking. Racket exposed after victims filed complaint The case came to light when two women from Bhopal and Chhattisgarh reached Bagsewania police station on the night of February 22 and filed separate complaints. The victims, aged 21 and 32, had first met each other through Instagram chats. Acting quickly, police arrested Amreen, Afreen, and Chandan Yadav on February 23, while three other accused, Bilal, Chanu, and Yasir, remain absconding. Victims forced to consume alcohol and drugs According to the FIR, Chandan Yadav lived with Amreen and Afreen at Sagar Royal Villa. He allegedly converted to Islam after coming in contact with the sisters. The accused sisters had taken both victims to Gujarat and Mumbai, where they were forced to have relations with unknown men. The victims also claimed that they were pressured to consume alcohol and MD drugs. Suspicious WhatsApp groups found in mobile phones Police have seized the mobile phones of Amreen, Afreen, and Chandan, which are currently being investigated. Several suspicious WhatsApp groups have been found on Amreen’s phone, along with photographs of multiple young women. Investigators have also found evidence linking the sisters to a larger prostitution racket. Along with Chandan Yadav, Bilal, and Yasir, the accused allegedly raped both victims multiple times. The victims told police that while staying with them, the sisters treated them like family members and never made them feel discriminated against. At the same time, they repeatedly tried to influence them by highlighting the ‘good aspects of Islam’ and promising good marriages after religious conversion.
