A dispute broke out at Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain when a female security guard and a priest accompanying devotees from Rajasthan clashed over entry. The argument escalated into an exchange of abusive language and a brief scuffle, a video of which surfaced later. The footage shows priest Kamlesh Sharma arguing with security guard Jyoti Parmar at Gate No. 1, known as Avantika Gate. The guard allegedly abused and threatened Sharma and the devotees with him, while Sharma is also seen confronting her in the video. Following the incident, the temple administration removed the security guard from duty. Priest Kamlesh Sharma has also been barred from entering through Gate No. 1, the Avantika Gate. The incident reportedly took place around 10:30 am on Sunday, and the video emerged on Monday. Stopped due to having a Rajasthan Aadhar card Security guard Jyoti Parmar submitted an application at Mahakal police station stating that Priest Kamlesh Sharma was trying to get 3 people entry through Gate No. 1 by showing their Aadhar cards. They were stopped because the Aadhar cards were from Rajasthan. Sharma created a dispute over this and threatened violence. Priest alleges abuse Priest Kamlesh Sharma said that the devotees who came with him had identification cards from both Ujjain and Rajasthan. When the security guard stopped them from entering, he raised an objection. During this, the female security guard abused them, for which he has video evidence. However, they have not yet filed a police complaint. Temple administration took action against both According to Mahakal Temple Committee Administrator Pratham Kaushik, someone was trying to enter using an incorrect Aadhar card. The security guard tried to stop them as per the rules, which led to a dispute. The female security guard has been removed for using inappropriate language. Additionally, Pandit Kamlesh Sharma has been banned from entering through Gate No. 1.
