An incident of assault followed by gunfire has been reported from Utila in Gwalior after a dispute between two neighbours. The altercation took place on Monday afternoon, after which one neighbour allegedly called his friends and relatives in the evening. Among the accused attackers, the maternal cousin of gangster Harendra Rana is also said to be involved. It is alleged that he reached the spot, first assaulted the other party and then opened fire using a country-made pistol. CCTV footage showing the attackers firing after the assault has also surfaced. Since the incident, an atmosphere of fear has prevailed in the village. Acting swiftly, the police registered a case and arrested one of the accused. A search operation is currently underway to trace the remaining suspects. Attackers caught on CCTV While Fleeing According to the complaint filed by 34-year-old Ashish Pathak, a resident of Utila village under the Utila police station area, his neighbour Vivek Shukla had an argument with Krishna Jat, also from the same village. The argument soon escalated into a physical fight between the two. To take revenge for this dispute, Krishna Jat allegedly arrived in the village along with his associates Jitendra Jat and Vikku Jat, and assaulted Vivek Shukla. During the attack, when Ashish Pathak intervened to rescue Vivek Shukla, one of the accused fired at him with a country-made pistol (katta). It has been reported that the assailant Vikku Jat is the maternal cousin of notorious urban criminal Harendra Rana. One Accused Arrested, Others Under Scanner After receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot, registered a case, and arrested accused Krishna Jat. The complainant side has also expressed suspicion regarding the involvement of Ramkumar Gurjar in the incident. Police are currently investigating Ramkumar’s possible role. During the investigation, CCTV cameras installed along the route captured the accused fleeing the scene on an Activa scooter. In the footage, they can be seen brandishing a country-made pistol and a gun. Based on this evidence, the police registered the case and intensified the investigation. Search for Remaining Accused Continues Officials at Utila police station confirmed that an FIR has been registered in connection with the assault and firing incident. While one accused has been arrested, raids are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects involved in the case.
