A speeding car ran over four people standing by the roadside and hit a motorcycle in Dhargaon village of Khargone district on Monday morning, killing one man and seriously injuring three others, including a father and his young daughter. The accident occurred around 9 am near Yashraj Colony at Sulgaon Phata. Trader dies while buying chillies According to eyewitnesses, Munna Karma (55), a hardware trader from Dhargaon, had stopped on his motorcycle to buy red chillies. A fast-moving car coming from the Badwah side hit him and another man, Shantilal Patidar, who was standing nearby. At the same time, Shubham, a resident of Jhapdi village, and his five-year-old daughter were riding a motorcycle when they were also hit by the car. See three pictures of the accident Car crashes into tree, driver flees The impact was so strong that the car travelled nearly half a kilometre before crashing into a neem tree. After the accident, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. Doctors say injured are serious Medical Officer Dr Kiran Verma from Mandleshwar Community Health Centre said three injured people were brought to the hospital in the morning. Munna Karma had suffered multiple serious fractures and injuries and died during treatment. Shantilal Patidar, who suffered a leg fracture, went to Dhamnod for further treatment on his own. Another injured person received first aid and was discharged. Police seize car, search for driver Police have seized the car and started an investigation. Station House Officer Deepak Yadav said teams are searching for the absconding driver. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being checked and statements of eyewitnesses are being recorded. The case is under investigation.
