Ratlam’s Rawati area witnessed a tense situation during routine vehicle checking when police stopped a speeding tractor-trolley and found the driver and his companion under the influence of alcohol. The incident occurred on Tuesday, and multiple videos of the episode surfaced on Wednesday. Sub-Inspector Premsingh Hathila, along with two constables from Rawati police station, was conducting checking near the station when they stopped tractor-trolley number MP 43 ZE 1628. The driver was identified as Munnalal (26), while his companion was Ishwar (19). Both were allegedly intoxicated. Argument escalates on the road When the police asked the two youths to accompany them to the police station, they refused. An argument broke out on the road, drawing public attention. During the commotion, two women intervened and attempted to stop the police from taking the youths away. Videos circulating on social media show a brief scuffle. In one clip, a youth is seen grabbing the sub-inspector’s uniform collar while trying to free himself. Another woman is seen slapping the youth and asking him to calm down, but the argument continued due to intoxication. After a short struggle, the police managed to control the situation and took both youths to the police station. Police deny physical clash Rawati Station In-charge Suresh Gadariya denied any physical altercation with the police. He said that the situation was misrepresented in the videos and that women were only trying to persuade the youths to cooperate. According to the police, both youths were booked under Section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act for drunk driving. The tractor has been seized. Police maintained that no force was used and the situation was handled peacefully. Videos under review Three to four videos related to the incident have surfaced online. Police officials said the clips are being examined to verify the sequence of events and address public concerns.
