In Chhatarpur, a labourer died after coming in contact with a live electric wire while breaking the roof slab of a house. He was rushed to hospital by fellow workers, where doctors declared him dead. The incident took place on Saturday, and a video of it surfaced on Sunday. According to police, Devendra was working with fellow labourer Vishal Prajapati on demolishing the roof slab of an under-construction house. During the work, he accidentally touched an electric wire. He received a strong electric shock and his hand got stuck to the wire. Hand freed using a spade Vishal, who was present at the spot, immediately used a spade to detach Devendra’s hand from the wire. After this, Devendra fell to the ground. He was then taken to hospital. Police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident. The body was sent for post-mortem after completing inquest proceedings. A case has been registered and an investigation has been launched. Vishal had assured him that he would provide the money. Police said they are also investigating whether proper safety standards were followed during the construction work.
