South Africa Cricket on Friday announced a star-studded 15-man squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka. Aiden Markram will lead the team in the marquee tournament, hoping to go all the way after they were beaten by India in the 2024 final. Last edition’s runners-up have picked 19-year-old pacer Kwena Maphaka and 35-year-old Keshav Maharaj as part of their bowling arsenal. Premier pacers Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi and Anrich Nortje have also been picked. However, middle-order batter Tristan Stubbs and opener Ryan Rickelton couldn’t find a place in the 15-member team. The team featured a good balance of youth and experience, with as many as 7 players getting maiden World Cup calls.
