A seven-year-old girl was killed after being attacked by a wild boar in Vidisha district of Madhya Pradesh. The incident occurred on Saturday in Akadoda village under the Ganjbasoda area. The girl, identified as Kiran, was playing outside her house when a wild boar suddenly emerged from the nearby forest and attacked her, causing fatal injuries. According to the family, their house is located close to the forest boundary and at a distance from the main village. At the time of the incident, Kiran’s father Hari Singh had gone out for daily wage labour, while her mother was alone at home. Witnesses said the boar attacked the child without warning and bit her severely in the stomach. Rushed to hospital, succumbs en route After locals alerted the family, Kiran’s mother immediately contacted her husband. The injured child was rushed on a motorcycle to the government hospital in Ganjbasoda around noon. Doctors provided first aid, but due to the seriousness of her injuries and excessive bleeding, she was referred to Vidisha for advanced treatment. While being taken to Vidisha, Kiran’s condition deteriorated, and she died on the way at around 3 pm. Police were informed soon after, and the body was taken for post-mortem examination after a case was registered. Family and local concerns Kiran’s father Hari Singh said she was the only daughter in the family and studied in Class 2 at the village government school. He added that wild boars are often seen roaming near their house at night due to its proximity to the forest, but daytime movement is rare. The sudden attack in broad daylight has left the family and villagers in shock. Police and forest department informed Police officials said an investigation is underway to document the incident. The forest department has also been informed about the attack, and villagers have demanded measures to prevent wild animals from entering residential areas near forest boundaries.
