Bhopal Metro to be inaugurated on December 20:Commercial service begins December 21; 17 daily trips between AIIMS and Subhash Nagar

Bhopal Metro will be inaugurated on the evening of December 20. Commercial service for passengers will begin from December 21, operating from 9 AM to 7 PM with 17 trips daily. In the first phase, the Metro will run between AIIMS station and Subhash Nagar station. The minimum fare has been set at Rs 20 and the maximum at Rs 70. Metro authorities have clarified that, unlike Indore, there will be no free travel or fare concessions. The new Metro service is expected to provide relief from city traffic and offer residents a modern transport option. The inauguration on December 20 will be attended by Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and CM Mohan Yadav at Minto Hall. They will travel from Subhash Nagar to AIIMS by Metro, where a press conference will be held. PM Narendra Modi will address the event via a recorded message. Commercial Metro operations will start at 9 AM on December 21.
